How far in advance should we book a birthday party?
We recommend booking at least 3 to 4 weeks in advance, especially for peak Saturday and Sunday afternoon sessions. Dates fill up fast across the Fort Worth and Tarrant County area.
Can we bring our own birthday cake or outside food?
You are welcome to bring a traditional birthday cake, cupcakes, or cookies for your booked party table! However, outside food and beverages (such as outside pizzas, fast food, or coolers) are not permitted. Extra food and drinks can be added directly to your package.
Are skate rentals included in the party package?
Yes, standard quad roller skate rentals are included for all paid party guests. Upgrades to rollerblades/inline skates or skate trainers (walkers) are available for a small additional fee on the day of the party.
What happens if non-skating parents or siblings attend?
Spectating parents and chaperones are always welcome to enter and watch at no charge. If parents or additional siblings decide they want to join the fun on the rink floor or eat from the party table, skate rental and guest add-ons can be purchased at check-in.
Do you offer private rink rentals for birthday parties?
Yes! If you want the entire facility reserved exclusively for your celebration, we offer private rink rentals outside of public skating hours. These are popular for milestone birthdays, sports team celebrations, and school parties.
Can I bring my own skates? Are roller blades allowed?
Yes, you can bring your own skates and you will only be charged for admission to the skating rink. Yes, roller blades are allowed.
Do you rent skates? What sizes do you carry?
Yes, you can rent roller skates at the Southern Skates Roller Rink. We carry sizes 2 child up to size 15 adult.
Is there an age requirement to skate?
We have all ages skating, from 1 year olds to 80 year olds. We do ask that all participants on Thursday’s adult session are 18 or older but in all other sessions we welcome all ages.
What kind of food do you serve?
The Silver Wheel food bar features Pizza, Corn Dogs, Hot Dogs, Chili Dogs, Frito Pie, Nachos, Pretzels, Fries, Chips, Popcorn, Funnel Cakes, Churros, Dippin’ Dots ice cream and soft drinks.
Is alcohol permitted in the building?
Alcohol is permitted ONLY on the Thursday evening Adult Skate night when Adults 21 & over are allowed to BYOB. Any guest participating must present a valid ID proving they are 21 years-of-age or older.
